Characteristic
PEEK has high mechanical strength, high temperature resistance, impact resistance, flame retardancy, acid and alkali resistance, hydrolysis resistance, wear resistance, fatigue resistance, radiation resistance, and good electrical properties.
High temperature resistance: Its melting point is 343 ℃, glass transition temperature is 143 ℃, long-term use temperature can reach up to 260 ℃, instantaneous use temperature can reach 300 ℃, and it hardly decomposes in a short time at 400 ℃.
Mechanical properties: PEEK has excellent mechanical strength, including high tensile strength (above 90 MPa), high elastic modulus, high hardness, impact resistance, and creep resistance. In addition, PEEK can still maintain high strength at high temperatures, with a bending strength of up to 24MPa at 200 ℃ and a bending and compression strength of 12-13 MPa at 250 ℃, making it particularly suitable for manufacturing components that can work continuously at high temperatures.
Wear resistance: PEEK resin has outstanding tribological properties, with certain self-lubricating properties and low friction coefficient, extremely low wear rate, and excellent resistance to sliding wear and micro motion wear.
Corrosion resistance: PEEK has excellent chemical stability and outstanding resistance to various organic solvents, oils, weak acids, and weak bases.
Hydrolysis resistance: PEEK also has good hydrolysis resistance and maintains a very low saturation water absorption rate over a wide temperature range.
Flame retardant performance: PEEK resin is a very stable polymer that releases less smoke and toxic gases during combustion, and also has self extinguishing properties.
Insulation performance: PEEK polymer exhibits high volume resistivity and surface resistivity, and can maintain good insulation performance over a wide temperature range and environmental changes.
Dimensional stability: PEEK has a small coefficient of thermal expansion, and its products have good dimensional stability performance.
Application Area
Widely used in fields such as aerospace, automotive industry, electronics and electrical, and medical equipment.
Aerospace field: PEEK can replace aluminum and other metal materials to manufacture various aircraft components. PEEK has a low density and good processing performance, so it can directly process large components that require precision.
In the field of electronic appliances, PEEK can be used for embedded plugs, high reliability connectors, cable plugs, junction boxes, wiring leads, cage coils for electrode plates, battery casings, etc. In the semiconductor industry, PEEK is used to manufacture wafer carriers, electronic insulation films, and various connecting devices, such as chip carrier insulation films, connectors, printed circuit boards, high-temperature connectors, etc.
Medical field: Due to its excellent biocompatibility, corrosion resistance, thermal stability, and outstanding mechanical properties, PEEK has a wide range of applications in the medical field, such as medical catheters, interbody fusion devices, orthopedic bone plates, heart valves and stents, and dentistry.
In the automotive field, PEEK can be applied to various components such as engine hood piston units, bearings, gaskets, seals, transmissions, clutch rings, etc. In addition, it is widely used in the transmission, braking, and air conditioning systems of automobiles.
